The PTA Council of the East Ramapo Central School District (ERCSD) welcomes you to their official website. ERCSD is one of the largest school districts in Rockland County.
The Council is the organizing PTA group responsible for the Parent - Teacher Association (PTA) units and Parent - Teacher - Student Association (PTSA) units of the East Ramapo Central School District. The Council provides assistance to each PTA or PTSA in the district, helps coordinate school district / PTA activities, and is a central location for information.
Hello, Parents... participation in your PTA/PTSA unit at the school your child attends is your primary way of making a difference, so be sure to become a member. Without your local PTA/PTSA unit, your child would not enjoy many activities and functions. Your local PTA or PTSA unit is a volunteer organization that works in partnership with your school and the school district. The PTA Council ensures your PTA/PTSA excels at helping you, your child, and ALL families.
PTA, or Parent - Teacher Association is a national organization that believes parent and teacher participation will lead to the best education for students at the elementary, middle, junior high, and senior high schools.
The Council, like all of PTA, consists of volunteers. These volunteers, whose unpaid efforts of time and treasure are considerable, receive something special: the knowledge that they have made a difference!

All PTA officers are members of the council. If you are a PTA officer at one of the schools in the district, you are welcome to come to our monthly PTA Council meetings. Your participation is appreciated.
Each PTA unit has a set of by-laws. Please refer to your unit's by-laws for information on how to run your PTA. If you have any questions, please contact one of the PTA Council officers.
Each unit consists of a set of officers and chairpeople who direct the members in all activities. PTAs sponsor many worthwhile activities, such as cultural arts events, book fairs, free book distributions, and family gatherings. These programs and others can only happen with the help of many parents, staff, and community members.
Please contact your local PTA unit to find out how you can be involved!
